Pre-Register for the 2014-2015 GS Year!

If we get 100% of our troop to pre-register for the 2014-2015 year, our Service Unit (IWC and Surry) gets some AWESOME incentives! Please register:

You!
Your girl!
Your girl's dad! (We gave out some Dads of Distinction awards last night at our Service Unit Meeting!)

Go here: http://www.gsccc.org/

Click ebiz at the top and log into ebiz: https://gsusa.ebiz.uapps.net/VP/Default.aspx?pid=5 (You may need to create a new account if you haven't logged in in awhile.)

Once logged in, click your names and the "Purchase Girl Scout Memberships" from the drop down bar, and click go.

Click the years you'd like to be a member and click the large green button at the bottom that says "Process 1 of 2".  Finish the 'Collect Membership Info' pages.

You will need to do this for each person you are registering. I did it for me and Aubrey. When it asks you what troop, type in 00733 and make sure you check "Permission Granted".

Finally, you'll check out just like you would when you purchase something online. :)

When you see this,
you're done! Thanks :)

Daisy Meeting #9

We earned ALL our petals! Wowzers! :)

Tonight we earned our "using resources wisely" and "making the world a better place petals.

We did this by:

1) recycling our soda cans and learning what else can be recycled.

2) learning about reusing, recycling, and reducing.

3) walking around and making our world-the school-a better place. We even asked the janitors if they needed help.

4) by making the outside a better place for our birds with our Cheerio bird feeders.

We are READY to bridge to Brownies!!! :) Wahoo!

Daisy Meeting #8

Whew! We jam packed a lot in today and it was amazing! The girls were also SO excited when I told them that we would be meeting twice this month! Ahhh...the little things:).

First, we had a yummy snack and celebration since it was Trinity's last meeting with us.

Then, we reviewed respecting authority and wrote a "Thank You" card to the officers.

After that, we packed our Comfort Kits for the Isle of Wight Shelter. We also made cards for the bags. We earned 4 leaf badges that will be sewn on our vest (look on the Girl Scout Information tab for a picture of where they go).

Next, we worked on our "Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout" Petal. This is the darker pink one to glue next to the light blue. We also earned a fun badge to attach to the back of our uniform.

Finally, we wrote cards to another Daisy troop in the county and made these cute pin S.W.A.P.S.

Here is some background info:
Swaps, the tradition of Girl Scouts exchanging keepsakes, started long ago when Girl Scouts and Girl Guides first gathered for fun, song, and making new friends. Swaps were widely exchanged at national Girl Scout Senior Roundups in the 1950's and 1960's. In more recent years, some Girl Scouts describe the types of objects now preferred as swaps by calling them: Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere. Swaps are still the perfect way for Girl Scouts to meet each other and promote friendship. Each one is a memory of a special event or Girl Scout Sister. http://www.girlscouts.org/who_we_are/facts/swaps/
